About

Create an e-learning website as a part of a team to teach the users a new skill or set of related skills and test the user’s skills as they progress through their learning.

Additional Information

Dash Auto is an e-learning website that was created to help new drivers and drivers who may need help with taking care of their cars learn about good car maintenance.

This project was a collaborative work where I was responsible for creating the logo, doing research for our color scheme and typography, designing mock ups for the test portion of the website, and assisting with the video tutorials through motion graphics and some video editing.

Above are the logo work, color scheme and the mock ups that I worked on in Adobe Illustrator respectively. I designed a few iterations of the logo and presented it to our group. We opted for our current logo so that there is a clearer distinction between the truck and the word “AUTO”.

For our color scheme, we used shades of blue and yellow to convey reliability and energy, which we have learned from one of our previous courses.

The test portion features both multiple choice and drag and drop functionalities. We originally planned to add an interactive test where the user must remove all the snow pile on their car via clicking on the snow-covered areas. However, we had to make changes in the later stage due to time constraints.

I have the video tutorials for modules one through five displayed above. There were three of us working on these videos as we delegated each tasks, recording, editing, and animation. I worked on the animation, supplemented on the editing, and incorporated free stock videos from Pexels for the opening sequence and for a large portion of the module 5 video tutorial. Our team used Adobe Premiere Pro throughout the video production process.

Shown above are snippets from the Dash Auto project website – the home page, the vertical main menu, the video tutorial block, and the module test blocks. Changes were made to the layout for the module tests, but the functionalities remained mostly the same, with it being multiple choice and drag-and-drop respectively.

It was great being a part of this team. I got to work more on brand identity, motion graphics, and video editing. I’d like to give special thanks to my fellow team members, Colby Bedard, Evan Yakymishen, Jade Pho, and Jordan Neilsen for working together to bring this wonderful project to fruition.
