About
Create at least 15 objects in a three-dimensional space using skills and techniques from class.
Additional Information
Because of my newfound enjoyment with 3D modelling, I chose to create another 3D project through Blender as part of my Portfolio Development class. It felt that showcasing the pieces I created in one scene was the most suitable plan, so I designed one.
Initially, I just wanted to showcase the penguin 3D model that I based on the penguin ceramic vessel that I have in my bedroom. However, as I created more pieces, namely the easel and the bar stool, I decided to place everything together in one scene as my big project. With that goal in mind, I had to designate what kind of room it will be, and how many pieces will I need to showcase.
With at least ten pieces as a goal for my earlier 3D project, I wanted to challenge myself, so I decided to create at least fifteen 3D objects. And for the room, with a ceramic and an easel at hand, I went for a portion of a fictional art studio.
In the end, I was able to model more than my goal of 15 pieces. I modelled the following 3D objects:
- penguin
- floating shelf
- easel
- bar stool
- cardboard box
- paint can
- Newton’s cradle
- storage unit
- wire basket
- corkboard
- pushpin
- work table
- desk lamp
- pen holder
- pens
- paint brush
- paint tubes
- wicker basket
- suitcase
Besides using prepared materials to add color and texture to the 3D objects that I made, I added a few models from the BlenderKit assets gallery as smaller accent pieces, namely the books, the painting, the A4 paper pile, and the skull.
Overall, this was a great project to work on to continue my study on 3D modelling. I was able to challenge myself in creating the 3D objects and going beyond the goal that I’ve set for myself.
